Matcha Chocolates in Molds

For today's #MatchaMonday recipe we decided to make chocolate - a quick and easy but delicious recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup chopped white chocolate
  • 2 Tsp matcha powder

Directions:

  1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, at 30 second intervals, stirring after each heat until the chocolate is smooth. You can also melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
  2. Add in the matcha powder and stir until uniform in colour and no matcha powder streaks remain.
  3. Pour into molds and refrigerate until set. Let the chocolates come to room temperature before eating.

Matcha Melted Chocolate Mix

This recipe was fun to make, albeit slightly sticky and messy. Not having any molds, I used an ice tray instead, which did the job well. The only issue I had was that I was too impatient to try the yummy goodness that I didn't let them harden long enough in the fridge, so I had trouble getting them perfectly out of the molds.

Matcha Chocolate Domes

Overall, the chocolates tasted great! There was only a subtle hint of matcha taste which cut through the sweetness of the chocolate ever so slightly and lingered once the chocolate was gone.

Will definitely be trying this one again!

"It's nice! But it doesn't taste at all like matcha!"
