A Lot of Latte's
Hello lovely matcha lovers! We've heard that matcha latte's are the perfect way to get your daily dose of matcha goodness. So, this week we decided it was time to whip up a few different latte's with our Matcha Superior.
We've tried some with coconut milk, some iced, some hot. So you have plenty of ideas to work with and figure out which is your favourite. Here it is, our round-up of delicious Matcha Latte's.
Simple Matcha Latte
Ingredients:
- Milk (we used fresh cow's milk)
- Honey
- Just Matcha Matcha Superior
- Hot water
Method:
In your matcha bowl, whisk 2 bamboo spoons or a 1/2 teaspoon of matcha with a 1/2 cup of hot water (not boiling hot, around 70 degrees celsius), until there are no lumps. Add 1 teaspoon of honey and whisk until the honey is completely mixed in. After frothing your milk using a milk frother, heat it and set aside. Pour your matcha mix into a pretty glass and pour your frothy milk on top. Sprinkle a little matcha powder on top and sip away.
Iced Matcha Latte
Ingredients:
- Ice cubes
- Cold water
- Honey
- Just Matcha Matcha Superior
Method:
Froth up your milk in a frother and chill. Fill a martini shaker with ice cubes and add 2 bamboo teaspoons or a 1/2 teaspoon of Matcha Superior powder and a teaspoon of honey (you may need to heat your honey a little to melt it).
Add 1/2 a cup of cold water, close your martini shaker and give it a good shake. Add some fresh ice cubes to your drinking glass and pour the ice cold matcha mix on top. Lastly, pour in your chilled frothy milk and sprinkle with a touch of matcha love. Sit back and enjoy!
Coconut and Honey Matcha Latte
Ingredients:
- Coconut milk
- Hot water
- Honey
- Just Matcha Matcha Superior
- Nutmeg
Method:
In your matcha bowl, whisk together 2 bamboo spoons or a 1/2 teaspoon of matcha powder and a 1/2 cup of hot water (not boiling, about 70 degrees celsius). Make sure there are no lumps left in the mix, then add a teaspoon of honey and whisk some more. Froth 1/2 a cup of coconut milk and heat till it is just steaming. Pour your hot matcha mix into a cup and add your frothy coconut milk on top. Finish off with a sprinkle of nutmeg. Mmmmm... Enjoy!
Iced Coconut Matcha Latte
- Ice cubes
- Cold water
- Just Matcha Matcha Superior
- Honey
- Cinnamon
- Coconut milk
Method:
Froth the coconut milk with a milk frother and chill. Fill a martini shaker with ice cubes and add 2 bamboo spoons or 1/2 teaspoon matcha on top. Add in a teaspoon of honey and pour in a 1/2 cup of cold water. Close your martini shaker and shake it up.
Put a few fresh ice cubes in a glass and pour the ice cold matcha mix over. Drizzle the chilled coconut milk over and finish with a touch of cinnamon. Yummy!
Obviously, Scarlett was having a bit of a Garfield Monday... but we loved them all!
